Dichterliebe is one of the most popular works in the entire song repertoire: Schumann sets his favourite poet Heinriche Heine's love songs.
Winter Words: in Britten's hands Thomas Hardy's cycle of eight poems receives the most sensitive of settings.

Michael Jamieson Smith was a finalist in the Kathleen Ferrier Competition and a Countess of Munster Scholar. He has taken solo operatic roles with professional companies, including the English Bach Festival at the Royal Opera House and L'Opéra National de Lyon.
Roger Sayer has been Organist and Master of the Choristers at Rochester Cathedral since 1994. He has made numerous highly acclaimed recordings as both organist and conductor
